John Pedder is a talented printmaker whose work is deeply rooted in his lifelong passion for woodworking and drawing. Specializing in woodcut printmaking, John brings a unique approach to the medium, combining his love for craftsmanship with his artistic vision. With a background as a builder and maker, his creations reflect a strong sense of craftsmanship and a dedication to the tactile nature of the materials he uses.
John’s woodcut prints are a testament to his ability to create depth and meaning from simplicity. By embracing the restriction of two-dimensional work, he focuses on the impact of each mark, creating pieces that resonate with raw, elemental energy. His prints, which are hand-carved and printed on quality paper, reflect both the unpredictability of the medium and his own disciplined approach to the creative process.
With his work, John aims to slow down the creative process, allowing for an immersive experience that celebrates the beauty of the simplest marks and the magic of happenstance. His woodcuts bring a sense of tranquility and sophistication, whether framed or unframed, offering a modern twist on traditional craftsmanship.
Available in both framed and unframed formats, John Pedder’s prints are perfect for those who appreciate the beauty of handcrafted, contemporary art that draws on both technique and the organic flow of creativity.
