About the Artist
Ross Minton, also known as The Wonky Doodler, is a local artist whose work is deeply inspired by the natural world, particularly the untamed beauty of wildflower meadows. His art reflects a longing to see the UK’s grass verges return to their natural, unkempt state, filled with vibrant color and rich biodiversity. With a passionate belief in the importance of preserving native plant life, Ross often reflects on the alarming loss of 97% of wildflower meadows since the 1960s.
Born with a rare muscle disability that limits his mobility, Ross finds solace and healing in the outdoors, often spending time in nature to reset his mental health. His connection to the natural world is not only reflected in his art but also in his personal mission to encourage more disabled people to embrace outdoor activities. When he isn’t creating his art, Ross can be found on his allotment, where he vlogs to inspire others to grow their own lives and appreciate the world around them.
Ross’s words resonate with his outlook on life: “I’ve always found nature to be a great healer, and as I tell everyone, I’ve never met a tree I didn’t like!”
