Description
After a career in Corporate Finance, I began a journey to discover all aspects of printing. After a number of years producing Linocuts, in 2016 along with a group of local artists, we established a Printmaking Group, Studio 99. This collective bought together Oil Painters, Watercolourists and Printers who meet weekly to pursue their print practice.
Initial work focused on Etchings and we were lucky to have one of the country’s leading etchers, Chris Salmon, to guide our journey. Over the years a number of different print techniques have been explored and latterly I have concentrated on developing a particular style of collagraphy to give a detailed and high contrast image.
I have a deep passion for comics, noir crime novels, horror movies and 60’s cult culture and these all provide inspiration for my work – most recently a series based on the Carry On films and on early British sit-coms
My work is produced mainly for myself and for the sheer joy of printing but I have been lucky enough to exhibit at a number of shows, most recently at the RBSA’s 2022 Print Prize Exhibition
