Artwork: Avebury Intaglio Etching by Dave Gunning
About this piece: This intaglio print presents a hauntingly beautiful portrayal of Avebury, another prehistoric site in Wiltshire, known for its large stone circles. The scene is set under a similarly bright moon, whose light creates a serene yet eerie atmosphere. The stone monoliths are rendered with a stark, almost ghostly presence, standing against a backdrop of undulating hills and a textured sky. The use of light and shadow brings out the ancient and timeless quality of the stones, evoking a sense of historical depth and mystery. This print is also signed and dated by Dave Gunning in the lower right corner, and marked “A/P” (Artist’s Proof) on the left, indicating it is part of a limited series of prints created by the artist.
