Su France Designs Contemporary Silver Jewellery

Su lives in a rural environment, on a working farm, where her studio sits within the runways of a WWII RAF base. Here nature has reclaimed much of the adjoining woodlands & fields. She uses photography as a sketchbook, capturing moments in her surroundings to inspire & utilise in her art.

Her practice is rooted & grounded on an engagement with life cycles & natural form, having sustainability at its heart. She seeks out the often overlooked & unique details, spending time to prepare & press, long before committing to print. Su employs a range of printing techniques, collagraph, solar plate & intaglio monoprint within her work, experimenting with debossing to add depth & detail. Her work forms tangible links, incorporating elements that are meaningful to herself and others, combining this with the unpredictability of printmaking.

In 2022, Su gained a prestigious grant award from Arts Council England to develop her creative practice. In 2023 Su was chosen as the ‘Artist of the Month’ by the Visual Artists Association, and we highly recommend reading the beautifully written article on their website.
