David Smeaden is an Artist residing in the delightful village of Lavenham in Suffolk. Originally from Stratford, London he has been drawing and painting all his life.
His subjects are mainly Architecture and Landscapes. Mediums he uses are Ink, Acrylic and Watercolour.
“Suffolk has many timber framed buildings which lend themselves to my style of painting. I have a particular love of Architecture. I like to see old against modern. I use Ink and, either, a Watercolour of Acrylic Wash, or just pure Acrylic as in oil painting. Painters I admire are JMW Turner and Edward Seago. Turner was a master of Watercolour and I would have loved to seen him work.”
David has exhibited in numerous exhibitions and has received many commissions. His paintings can be found in London, East Anglia, Jersey, Australia, Japan, Canada and America. A number of his paintings have been featured on Greetings Cards as well.
David is also a keen Photographer, visiting many local places of interest to photograph and search out locations to paint.
Many of David’s paintings and prints are for sale and he always welcomes commissions.
