Here are many printmakers printing lots of different plates on their Gunning Etching Presses.
From Lino Reductions, one colour Lino, etchings, aquatint etchings, photo-etchings, solar plates, photogravure, collagraph’s, woodblocks etc… our etching presses print all plates and are very easy to change the pressure and set.
This is a Relief background print using 1.5mm steel plate and Relief Ink on our Gunning Etching Press. Use 2 blankets to print this type of plate with medium to light pressure.

Using 35mm thick runners on the Gunning etching press this woodblock was printed single colour…perfect every time.

11. This is a 2 plate etching. Using 2 plates for 1 print, both plates are 1.5mm thick. 1 to print the coloured background and then 1 plate etched line into a steel plate, size 8” x 10” Printed using both relief and etching ink. Registering the plate to print perfectly.

This is an aquatint etching plate inked up with intaglio ink then rolled over using a spindle roller with relief ink. This takes a small layer of the etching ink from the plate but it gives amazing results. The steel used is 1mm thick. Jenny Gunning (early etching) edition sold out.

This is showing a print been taken from a 4mm Japanese Plywood block without an image carved from it. You can see that the woodgrain printed as well. 4mm thick Runners and Packing paper so we can just kiss the plate and get a perfect print every time.

This is a 40mm thick woodblock printed using relief ink onto 270gsm bread and butter paper. Using Runners and packing paper on the Gunning Etching Press to get perfect consistency every time
