What would you do if an invaluable piece of your family’s history got destroyed?
We have just finished recreating this beautiful 40-year-old card that was unfortunately ripped to shreds by the customers dog! Our customer explained how this card was given by her late father to her mother and how it was such a special momentum of there love.
The customer presented this to us as a pile of torn paper with one large piece and a few recognisable piece. We started piecing it together so we could understand how to digitally recreate this beautiful card. Using our high-resolution scanner we scanned the different parts of the card and then began stitching, merging, cloning and blending the different areas back together using Photoshop. Creating the pattern down the left-hand side was a challenge as the scanned segments were so small but we used a strong section of pattern and repeated this all up one side.
Once the final adjustments had been made and the customer was happy we printed onto cotton core Archival Fine Art Paper using Cannon Lucia Light fast pigment inks to give a beautiful lasting print. Final choices of mount and frame were made to allow this to be pride of place and also to keep it out of the jowls of the playful dog! I loved seeing how happy the customer was with the framed artwork and that we have brought the priceless piece of family history back to life.
