Teresa Barlow Exhibiting at Ironbridge Fine Arts 1st March – 31st May 2018
We currently have a small selection of work on display by Teresa Barlow and we look forward to exhibiting a range of her work in our March 2018 exhibition.
“I like to mix media in order to introduce surprising elements within each picture and to capture something of the energy and excitement of people at play. Fairground and circus themes influence a lot of my work and generate a sense of anticipation and the spectacular. I am also intrigued by chorus lines and synchronised swimming in which multiple individuals appear the same on the surface, whilst somehow retaining their individual characteristics and aspirations. I make up stories about some the characters in my pictures in order to bring them to life and explore their relationships to each other. I have fun with the work I create and hope that the humour and energy spills out to connect to the memories and stories of others. Currently, my work includes ceramics, silkscreen printing, and collograph.”
