Quality artwork deserves quality protection. However, it is often difficult to know what level of framing is best for your desired application. Different options offer a varying level of protection, so factors such as where the piece is going to be kept and the level of protection you need will alter the type of framing that you need. Our Fine Art Trade Guild Certified framers have undergone examinations to ensure we are knowledgeable, skilled, and working to the internationally recognised Fine Art Trade Guilds best practices and standards to bring you exceptional service and framing solutions.
We’ve put together a useful guide to help you understand the different levels of framing we offer, and the level of protection that these will give you.
Commended Level Framing
If you’re looking for a moderate level of protection, Commended Level Framing is an excellent option. Offering excellent visual enhancement to your artwork, this is a great option, despite being the lowest level of framing that we offer. With this level of framing you can expect protection from airborne pollutants and acid damage, as well as mechanical damage for around 5 years. However, as this type of framing is not fully reversible (unlike alternatives), you should think carefully before choosing this level of framing. For more information, please click here.
Conservation Level Framing
Offering protection for up to 20 years, there is a noticeable difference in protection between commended level framing and conservation level framing. At any time within the 20 years, the framing process can be reversed, returning the artwork to its former state. We use expert materials, including glazing with a UV filter, to give your artwork the ultimate protection. Conservation level framing protects a wide range of things that could cause damage to your piece. For more information, please click here.
Museum Level Framing
The best of the best. Of course, not confined strictly to museums, but it gives you an idea of the kind of protection it offers. If your piece has potential historical value, then this is for you. Ensuring valuable artwork remains in first class condition, you can be assured that your artwork is thoroughly preserved. With different glazing options available to suit, we can provide a top quality solution to suit you. For more information on our museum level framing, please click here.
