When framing a picture, whether it’s a treasured photograph or a piece of art, there a number of considerations to make. Thinking about where the work will be hung, the wall, the light and rest of décor nearby before deciding on a frame will help make it a joy to live with.
We stock over 350 picture frame mouldings and have access to thousands more specialist styles within 48 hours, so you can be sure that we will be able to recommend and create a style that is perfect for your picture.
The mounting will also affect the feel of a picture. An oversize frame and mount with a small picture can look very stylish. For larger artwork or photos, you may need a more substantial frame. The colour of the mount also needs to compliment the work, from matt black through to bright white, and everything in-between.
You also have a choice of glass. Although you might think you just have a choice of thickness, glass technology within framing has advanced in recent years. The main purpose of glass in a picture frame is to protect the artwork, but not only from dust or knocks, but also from harmful UV light which can fade artwork over time. We also use glass that is designed to be almost invisible within a frame.
Based in Merrythought Village, Ironbridge in Telford, we have a large free car park right outside the studio, and an easy to access loading bay, all designed to make it easy for you to visit with any size artwork.
With all this to think about, why not drop in and bring your artwork along. At Ironbridge Framing we are Fine Art Guild trained and commended, work to standards up to and including museum level framing. Whatever your picture framing needs, Ironbridge Framing can help.
