"I have always enjoyed art, but it was returning to college as a mature student that changed what I do and how I do it; having access to everything Plymouth Art College offered, I embraced an experimental approach to ideas and materials. I draw my inspiration from memories, people and places. Using symbols, patterns and mythology from various cultures and landscapes - reflecting on history and sometimes aspects of injustice that may surround them. Informed by travel and research I paint, draw and print to express my ideas allowing an image to dictate the medium or practice best used to articulate an idea. My creative journey is constantly evolving, but I return regularly to images of Hares and combine these animated characters with Celtic patterns. Other animals and birds are beginning to emerge as subjects in my creative journey."
