Ironbridge Fine Arts are very excited for the launch of our Winter exhibition. The exhibition preview evening is on Friday 29th November from 7-9pm, with the doors opening at 7pm. The exhibition will run until 28th January and our normal opening times are Mon-Fri, 10am-5pm and Sat 10am-3pm.
Our Winter exhibition will be a collaboration of newly invited artists to our gallery, alongside some of our long-standing core artists. This exhibition is a celebration of the incredible local and international Artists featuring a plethora of Etchings, Oils on board and Assembelege Artwork.
New to the gallery are Vivienne Spencer and Sally Simons.
Vivienne Spencer will be exhibiting a large range of Monoprint Etchings. Vivienne’s inspiration comes from the landscape of Penwith in the far south of Cornwall, the flora and fauna both on the beach and found walking in country lanes. “I enjoy finding the overlooked and neglected. I’m interested in colour and how one can get emotion, texture, and depth into prints via various means. I enjoy the processes of printmaking and how to combine them; I’m a keen photographer and like the cross-over between digital and analogue which I’m keen to explore further.”
Artist Sally Simons has returned to the UK after living in New Zeland for many years. Her love of capturing the landscapes she immerses herself in is evident in the beautiful Oil paintings she creates. “For me, drawing and painting is a way of life. I paint to be part of and at one with the light, the land and the energy of a place. It’s a constant challenge of looking and interacting, responding and reflecting. Trying to share the wonders of the natural world I experience around me, in the playful exchange of colour and light. The paintings hopefully reflect this sense of wonder.”
Returning to the Gallery is Los Angeles born Artist Edward Mackenzie who will be exhibiting a collection of Assemblage Art which we can not wait to display. Edward is a passionate artist inspired by objet trouvé – old and new manufactured objects which he uses to create assemblage art. The work has a strong design element that gives reference to ideas to history, humour, or allegory. We also pleased to announce the return of local Artists Jo Jukes with a selection of copper jewelry, sculpture, and paintings.
Ironbridge Fine Arts Gallery owner and specialist printmaking Jenny Gunning will be displaying her brand new body of Intaglio Etchings and Lino Prints. Jenny is a passionate printmaker, forever challenging traditional methods to push the boundaries to create work with an incredible depth of tone as well as boundless passion.
Internationally recognised and highly collected Artist, Dave Gunning will be displaying two collections of work totaling 110 Intaglio Etchings that capture the rich history of Britians Stone circles and burial chambers. This is an extremely exciting opportunity as these two collections were accepted by HM Queen Elizabeth II into her private collection.
We will have a rich plethora of work on display from our longstanding core Artists including Liz Gunning’s beautiful range of Earthenware and Raku Pottery, Aquatints by Diana Wayne, Pottery by Paul Gooderham and new collections of Fused glasswork by Greg Anston Race and Geraldine McGlouchlin. There is an incredible display of Sterling Silver Jewellery by Liz Simmons and Jo Mollart-Highfield. Last but by no means least, Anna Pearson continues to produce incredible Tarraiums which can be found throughout the Gallery not only on plinths but handing from the beams!
With such a huge array of local and international Artists, we truly have something to suit all tastes and budgets.
