About the Artist
For our Spring 2025 exhibition, we are excited to present an incredible lineup of featured artists, including the remarkable work of Louise Davies, an accomplished English painter and printmaker based in London. With a Fine Art degree from St Martins School of Art and an M.A. in Printmaking from the University of the Arts London, Camberwell College of Arts, Louise has made a significant impact in the art community. As a member of the esteemed Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers at Bankside Gallery, adjacent to the Tate Modern, she has established herself as a leading figure in her field.
An award-winning artist, Louise exhibits extensively throughout the UK and has works held in numerous private collections. Working full-time from her studio by the River Thames in South East London, she draws inspiration from the landscape and her unique interpretations of it. Renowned for her distinctive line drawings and vibrant use of color, Louise specializes in printmaking, particularly in etching and collagraph techniques.
Her creative process begins with sketches made directly from nature, which she translates onto wax-coated zinc plates in her studio. This instinctive approach often involves weeks of experimentation with various layers of colored inks and mark-making techniques until she achieves her desired effect. Each of Louise’s prints is a limited edition of 75, yet every piece is unique, as she prints each one individually. Visitors to this exhibition can look forward to an inspiring experience that showcases her innovative approach to printmaking and her ability to capture the beauty of the landscape through her art.
