Francesca Centioni: Artist of Process, Ecology and Imagined Space

Francesca Centioni - Featured in our Spring 2027 Exhibition

Artist of Process, Ecology and Imagined Space

London-based artist practitioner Francesca Centioni will be exhibiting as part of our Spring Exhibition 2027. Her practice is grounded in printmaking, alternative photographic processes and 2D assemblage, through which she explores themes of ecology, identity and the shifting boundaries between reality and imagination. Working in a process-led and instinctive manner, Francesca’s work invites open-ended interpretation, encouraging viewers to engage with material, memory and association in a non-linear way.

Central to Francesca’s practice is an experimental approach to palimpsest printmaking and the use of found substrates. Layers are built, disrupted and reworked, allowing traces of previous states to remain visible within the finished work. This method creates space for unexpected dialogues to emerge, where imagery, texture and process hold equal weight. Rather than fixed narratives, her work offers moments of possibility—suggesting meaning as something that evolves through making and attention.

Francesca’s studio culture is rooted in a holistic approach, often bringing together traditional print processes with contemporary technologies. This blending of methods provides a framework for considering how art operates within everyday life, and how making can foster connection, reflection and engagement. Alongside her studio practice, Francesca collaborates extensively with grassroots organisations and is committed to education, teaching across both formal and informal settings.

She is a graduate of the MA Arts & Learning programme at Goldsmiths University, and holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Photography from Camberwell College of Arts, UAL, alongside a PGCE in Education. Francesca has programmed and delivered workshops across London, working with institutions including Autograph Gallery, Dulwich Picture Gallery, Camden Arts Centre and Camberwell College of Arts.

The Spring Exhibition 2027 will present a thoughtful selection of Francesca Centioni’s work, offering audiences the opportunity to engage with a practice that is materially rich, conceptually open and deeply attuned to process, ecology and imagination.
