Animals appear in my work – a lot. I care about them, their rights, or rather, their lack of rights, and the visual representation of their souls and form. I am truly captivated by them and the human-animal relationship.
I am fascinated by what’s out there . . . in space and how Earth, alive with an immeasurable number of species, sits within the universe. Every atom of everything and every life on earth came from an exploding star – what, if any, is our significance in it all. I am curious about the strangeness of space, its possible infinity and all our seemingly finite lives.
Iam creating images that reflect that curiosity, which comes from looking out, but I also see an inward reflection in my work.
I’m working predominantly in ink and pencil and then Giclée printed because I will include some digital ingredients. I am also working on personal projects of illustrated books about rights and identity that include chimpanzees and dandelions.
