As an artist, professional, semi-professional or hobbyist, creating a piece of art on canvas or paper is labour of love. Whether you have waited hours for the right light and conditions taking that photograph, or spent weeks with paintbrush and oils creating a biblical scene, when it comes to creating prints of your work it needs to be the best it can be.
Here at Ironbridge Fine Arts, we have the knowhow to help you migrate the care and attention you have put into your fine art, into your limited edition prints.
The scanning is the first part of the process. It makes or breaks the fine art prints before we even turn the printers on. The high definition flatbed scanner is the only way to get perfect results from paper or canvas based fine art. The focal length is permanently set, perfectly, for the whole area of the artwork. The lighting is consistent for the art. The result is an electronic file that is the best representation of your fine art you can get.
Compare this to using a camera. We’re photographers ourselves so know exactly how great cameras are at capturing landscapes, portraits, 3D objects. We also know the limitations. Even when using the best lenses, tripods, lights, and camera, it’s not quite the same. A slight lens bend at the corners, a light flare or shadow, may spoil the result. Many people won’t even notice, but you will. And that’s not what we’re about.
Choosing the correct paper will make a huge difference to the texture and the image quality. We’ll ask you how you want your art to feel, and advise on the weight of the stock and the finish. We have samples for you to see and feel. Of course, all our paper stock is tested and approved for use by the Fine Art Guild.
The Giclee Printer we use is perfect for Fine Art Printing. We’ve created prints for artists who’s work is currently in the Royal Collection. The inks we use are UV stable and will last many, many, years. To top it off, we have worked for and acquired the Fine Art Guild ArtSure quality mark. We can print up to 60” wide, making our in house print service appeal to most artists.
It’s one. We’re happy to hold your fine art files and print on demand. We’ve all done it, ordered large batches of prints to have them hanging around, getting moved when they are in the way, eventually getting edge damage and not looking the best they can be. Those days are over.
