We are pleased to invite Artist Nathalie Pymm to exhibit with us at Ironbridge Fine Arts. Keep checking back for dates!
Nathalie gives us an insight into her work and processes…
“I am a mixed media artist and printmaker working in my garden studio in Buckinghamshire since I left nursing seven years ago. I’ve discovered printmaking over ten years ago while visiting a friend during Open Studios who is a printmaker. Once I saw the linocut prints, I fell in love with them and knew this form of art was for me! I’ve always had a passion for art and so thankful to be able to spend my days working on my latest linocut, surrounded by my printmaking inks and tools of the trade – especially my wonderful No. 2 Gunning etching press! I have a big smile on my face just walking to my studio in the mornings”.
“My lino prints are inspired by trips to Cornwall – especially Port Isaac, a little fishing village in the North of Cornwall. I also have a love of architecture, my pets, frogs, elephants, still life, and anything that catches my eye. I love to work on lino reduction prints ( using more than one colour on the same lino piece by reducing the lino after each colour), and also finding lovely hand made paper/tissue paper to use as chine colle for my one colour lino prints”.
“I have exhibited at the Mall Galleries as part of the Society of Women’s art exhibition and also the ING Discerning Eye exhibition. I’ve also had the pleasure of exhibiting in St. Ives, Cornwall and Bath as well as taking part in local art exhibitions throughout Buckinghamshire. I am thrilled to be showing my lino cut prints at Ironbridge Fine Arts Gallery where I first had a go on my etching press under the fabulous guidance of Jenny Gunning. I will be showing my Cornish lino reduction prints, as well as my lovely frog, elephants, and cats as well as a few still life reduction prints”.
