Situated in the heart of the Ironbridge Gorge in Shropshire, our Fine Art Gallery in Telford hosts regularly changing exhibitions from a wide range of local and international artists, many of them award winners.
The spacious gallery is located in Merrythought Village, a bustling cluster of antique shops and workshops, and of course the home to Merrythoughts, a famous British brand of Teddy Bears which started in the 1930’s and are still going strong.
The Art Gallery always has an eclectic mix of wall art, sculpture, furniture, jewellery and interesting objects you won’t find anywhere else. There are one off gifts from under twenty pounds up to 8ft tall horse sculptures and everything in-between. We welcome you to browse at your leisure.
We are also a working art gallery. It’s not a stuffy, library-like environment, we like our hustle & bustle. Our busy fine art printing and framing studio here in Telford can be seen preparing artworks, you might find a drawing class or clay workshop in session, and there will usually be a couple of locally designed and manufactured Gunning etching presses around, with their distinctive turning wheels and stainless beds.
Visiting artists can hire one of our art studios by the day, to draw on the inspirational surroundings of the industrial revolution.
The Art Gallery serves as a hub for the areas artists, who can often be seen dropping in, bumping into each other while picking up prints, or dropping off their latest works for display.
