Follow Submission Guidelines Carefully
Why It Matters: Adhering to guidelines is crucial for a valid entry and reflects your professionalism.
- Review Carefully: Check the competition guidelines to ensure you meet all requirements, such as size, medium, and format.
- Plan Ahead: Submit your work before the deadline to avoid last-minute stress.
- Check and Double-Check: Verify that all submission forms, labels, and documentation are accurate and complete.

Helpful Hints for Photographing your Work
To capture the best representation of your artwork, follow these tips for photographing your pieces, or consider having your work scanned for a high-resolution digital file:
- Framed or Unframed: Photos can be taken either way, but images are best captured before glazing to avoid reflections.
- Avoid Harsh Light: Use natural daylight to avoid shadows and distorted colors. Place your work near an open doorway for optimal lighting.
- Correct Perspective: Photograph the artwork straight on, ensuring the camera is aligned with the work to avoid distortion.
- Use a Tripod: Stabilize your camera with a tripod to avoid blurring. Even a steady surface can help if you don’t have a tripod.
- No Digital Manipulation: Submit unedited photos. Your work should be represented authentically. Enhanced images may lead to disqualification.
