Information: 1 Day Intro into Etching Workshop at Ironbridge Studios is a great workshop to come on, during the workshop you will learn about metal, line, tone, aquatint, toxic and no-toxic etchants. As well as printing processes including traditional and contemporary methods. You will be working with a full time specialist printmaker, in a beautifully designed studio, next to the river seven, where the industrial revolution began.

What we provide: We provide all the materials and the printing press.
What you need to provide: Lunch and any snacks, if the workshop is at our Ironbridge studios then we will provide teas and coffees. If it is at your studio, school or University then it would be wonderful if you could provide teas and coffees and let us know if we need to bring lunch with us. Aprons will need to be provided for each student.

Equipment and Etching Printing Presses. In the studio there are two Gunningarts printing presses, a Number 3 press and a Little Thumper as well as a small Rochat press.
The studio space has been designed to house 4 printmakers giving them more than enough space to make and print plates the size of 20” x 28”. The hot plate, acid and water baths have been made to take plates of this size and the largest printing press in the studio is our No 3 Etching printing press with a bed size of 25” x 48” making it easy to print any size. Or we can take up to 15 students making plates A4 Size.
