World Heritage Site Festival 2006

Same as last year, we opened up our studio’s and gallery, again the event was very succesful. we had 3 schools involved, Jenny went into each school and produced art work with a group of children, the final pieces were judged and marked and the winning school was given a free workshop by Jenny.

World Heritage Site Festival 2007

‘Art in the Gorge’ Exhibition’ we exhibited over 300 peaces of art work in the Merrythought teddy bear factory show room. this was an excellent exhibition, on the open night we had around 300 guests and many sales. We also offered workshops in pottery, printmaking and drawing for children and adults. we also had two art competitions for the children.

World Heritiage Festival 2008

‘Hands across the Gorge’ Jenny worked with 9 different schools from around Shropshire to create ‘The Big Picture’ Jenny and other artists drew the picture in rough line, blew it up to the grand size of 16 foot by 34 foot and had it printed in sections of 2 foot x 8 foot panels, those panels were then cut up into another 16 sections.
Jenny went into each school taking the panels with her for the children to paint and draw. After all the workshops were complete Jenny and other artists put the picture back together again. 256 children painted the above picture with the help of Jenny and other artists.

This final piece was put up in Coalbrookdale Museum of the Gorge and was placed on scaffolding. The whole project was supported by Ironbridge Fine Arts and Framing, Access scaffolding, Museum of the Gorge and the Arts Development team at Telford and Wrekin.

Gwilym attended Stafford College where he completed a Foundation course in Art & Design before going to University College Falmouth from where he graduated with a degree in Fine Art. He now works as a print-maker in the Wolverhampton area.

His work encompasses a wide range of print techniques and often explores the relationships between media, image and surface, often working on found surfaces and recycling old images.

Peter Neeld studied at various institutions. He is a full-time maker of things. He dislikes talking about these things for fear that the words will not be right, that he will sound pretentious and the things will fade.

Buy a thing and he will write you a story about remembrance. Buy two and he will promise not to do so and never darken your door again.
